Natural Monday: Nature Walk

LCC Nature Walk 2 by rubys polaroid

A new week and more of the same work/job, it’s good to take a break once in awhile and do something totally different. So today i’ll show more pics from my adventure at a local tourist spot; Lekki Conservation Centre.

Did an earlier post on my Sky High Canopy Walk within the facility –  Ooh Shiny Sky Bridge.

Natural Monday: Textured Seas

Some days are warm, slow and peaceful. Just like this . .

….And some days are rough, not the kind of days going to the beach comes to mind. The biting wind rushing into every gap between your clothes and skin isn’t heartwarming and neither is the tingling cold water but that’s life not every day is smooth sailing.
That is what gives life Texture.
The WordPress Photo Challenge this week is TEXTURE, find it all round you and say or show what it means.

Natural Monday: Water Hyacinth Flower

Hallo 🙂 and a wonderful Monday to you. It’s a new week, new deadlines and the whole nine yards.
Sooooooo, let’s dig right into the shots of the day. Today for my Natural Monday Focus it’s the humble yet annoying Water Hyacinth. In Lagos, the Water Hyacinth isn’t liked cause of its rapid breeding along the water ways which clog up water edges and hold refuse and dirt. It also gives the water surface a patchy look which is very ugly *blehhh*.

Here comes the only nice part of this plant, its flower. This lovely and delicate (It’s really fragile and bruises easily) flower with its lilac to blue-purple petals is in my opinion the only reason i tolerate this messy water plant. Blotting out the mass of green leaves and looking only at the flower, the colours are cool and soothing and a great subject to start a new week/ new month.

*Oh yes the Month of Love is around the corner, time to get the baff bag ready for the fluorescent pinks and red soon to take over* LOL

How are you spending your Monday? and whats planned for the RED Month 🙂

Natural Monday: Beach Bamboo

Hi guys, its been awhile since i posted on Monday. My sincerest apologies, i was so caught up with taking shots with my new gear 🙂 time passed and i forgot to upload frequently.
Let me confess there’s been some photography techniques I’ve wanted to try for the longest time, one of which is Long Exposure Photography. There’s just something about them, it captures extended time and creates surreal images and with my new gear it’s within my grasp 🙂 .

This is my first Long Exposure Sunset Shot of bamboo shoots along the beach, hopefully as the sunsets get better into the year i’ll be able to show you a side of Lagos few people get to see. The horizon was dusty but i love the milky white waves 🙂 . Comments and suggestions are always welcome 🙂 .

Natural Monday: Sun Burst

Hallo peeps, and what a rollacoaster weekend it has been 🙂 ,rolling in the New Year on a Sunday with its attendant activites combined with church was alooooooot of stress 🙂 but i’m always happy for the holidays. The perfect time to relax and catch up to friends we’ve lost contact with all year, count our blessings and reflect on the coming year.
A great way to start an awesome year is in the full glare of the Eternal Sun and that what I did with this close up shot of the Unassuming Mushroom.

Hope we’ve all started on our Resolutions *wink wink*

Happy New Year

Natural Monday: BW Blush

Morning guys, how was your weekend? ….i’m not gonna complain it was short cause well it’s never as long as i wished it could be *moppy face*.
I digress….So onto the post for today.
It’s all about Pink Bougainvilleas in a selective monochrome feel, i felt the pink would go unappreciated if left against the green-yellow leaves so i muted all colours but the flower blooms and i quite like the result 🙂 . Do you feel it’s better this way or it should be left unaltered? Let me know in the comments.

Have a Great Week Ahead 🙂
