Today on my blog is for Monochrome/Black and White shots. I decided to take a pic instead of my two favourite subjects, one of which usually is taking the nature shots. Most people don’t believe this is my To-Go Camera but it has been for slightly over a year now. Small and compact does have its advantages and till its bigger Bro arrives it will have to do 🙂 .

How was your day today? I enjoyed mine since its my Birthday.

*wide cheesy grin*

See you tomorrow, and I’ll certainly have an Adele Inspired post for my midweek Music Post. 😀

Urban Thursday: Obalende Bridge Lagos

Obalende Bridge Underpass

Today under the Urban Category i’m featuring a shot I took with my phone recently in Obalende, Lagos. It is a very busy and ever bubbling transport hub in Lagos, home to a variety of things, its the quintessential melting pot. From here you can get a bus ( small, medium or large) going to anywhere and lets not forget the other modes of transport in Lagos.
The every slinky KeKe (Tricycle) and sometimes bikes.
The parallel line of light inspired me to take a shot through the bus window as we passed underneath on my way home.

Skyline Blur

Ikoyi bridge Skyline Blur by rubys polaroid

Took this shot with my phone on a drive through Ikoyi Bridge. It was a lovely sunset but my phone captured something else. A man’s silhouette against a blurred out skyline shot. To see other entries in this week’s challenge click, WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE – BLUR.

Streets of Lagos: Ozumba Mbadiwe Street VI

Roaming the streets taking pics, my focus today is Ozumba Mbadiwe Street VI,Lagos. A quite popular street/road for its buildings, 1004 estate, Law School Lagos, Exxon Mobile Lagos, and so many other attractions.
I have rendered some in selective monochrome, what do you feel seeing them? Comments and suggestions are always welcome on my Urban Journey through Lagos in pictures.

Streets of Lagos: Lekki Axis

My very post on this new series and I’m very excited 😀 . Today my shots on display were taken along The Lekki-Epe axis. From the homeless man sleeping at the road junction, the wayside fruit seller, to the perky inscription on the rear of a petrol tanker.

Streets of Lagos posts will be on every Thursday. To see more shots of Lagos join me on instagram where I’ll be uploading a lot more and as I take them real time. My instagram name is RubysPolaroid.

Billboard Monochrome

Billboard in Lagos by rubys polaroid

Today’s Black and White post is linked to a prompt from a Photo-blogging month task on the photo theme of Architecture. Architecture is a broad description  for buildings and physical structures. It might be for humans or not, as my photo shows. The design of this billboard caught my attention, being that is not the regular and its in a very prime spot. You can’t but notice it.
